welcome to synae. it's been a long while in the making, and i'm just surprised it's not the pile of wank it could of been. students, games, music, reviews, drinking, movies, drinking movies, music, emo-bashing. it'll be epic.
maybe, maybe not. synae has been around before. now it's back, with css! and an address! ledge. you can find out what bunch of goons are making this car-crash of a blog here. or you could find us here.
good question. first, emo jokes, and in honesty that's all a good site needs. however, to fill the space inbetween, you'll find handy student guides, reviews, 'jokes', interviews, old stuff we dredged up from c:\, advertisements and other, undecided greatness. have it.
Games are immense. Video games, card games, drinking games - all core to our lives. so we'll embarrass ourselves on guitar hero expert mode. we'll play poker until our eyes bleed. we'll scream 'fucky duzz' and reply, 'consume!'. all in the name of synae. immense!
unfortunately, i have to work to supplement my student loan. i used to do this at a local cinema, and it's poor. now i write for this site, and do super IT support. isn't life grand?
the vague category. for when one of us wants to make fun of another, or to slam yet another social group. or glasgow chib jokes. it's going to be crazy, and i've got a semi already.

support us it's not all free you know. want something from amazon? search for it here, buy it there. we both win, and it costs you nothing extraor simply click the item title in any review entry. we genuinely appreciate it. you can find out more about this system here
css & user-agent hoorah, we 'validate'. it's always nice when that happens. css is such fun to use, even if it renders in every browser *totally* differently.
so, play nice. follow these rules.
i've tried my hardest to make it cross-browser friendly, but if it implodes on yours, please e-mail me. i <3 the net.
notes i'm quite a poor student as it happens, so if you perhaps want to offer me clothes or some kind of web developing gig, drop me a line.
Supporting Synae think of us like your needy family. except you don't regret us.

So you want money then? Yes, and no, if we're honest. Why? Well, we have to pay for hosting. Putting stuff on the net isn't free. We also don't get much in the way of stuff to review or use, so that's all out our own pockets. But rather than ask for donations or any of that crap, we have Amazon.Amazon? The online megastore? Yup, that's the one. On many of our pages we have Amazon advertising bars, as well as Search boxes for Amazon at the side of each page. Every review also has a link straight to that item's product page on AmazonHow does that benefit you? Well, everytime you click through to Amazon from our site, be it from a search or from an advert, Amazon knows that we sent you. And if you go on to buy anything, then Synae recieves around 5% of the product price.Does it cost me more? Not in the slightest. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay if you accessed Amazon by any other means. The 5% (also known as our referral fee) comes straight from Amazon. What items qualify for the 5%? Basically everything, to be honest. Some items get us more, some items slightly less (between 4.8-5.2%), but they don't vary greatly. What if the item I want isn't on the advert? First off, clicking the advert to any item, then searching for another item on Amazon, is fine. We'll still recieve the referral fee. You can also use the Amazon search box that's on every Synae page to search for any item. If it's something we've talked about or reviewed, it's likely there's a direct link in the article to the thing as well - you can do a Synae Search for that. Why shop at Amazon? Well, they have basically everything, including the vast majority of what we review here. The site is well presented, excellent value and has a stellar reputation, as well as the fact that millions of people use it.Any catches or hidden stuff? Absolutely not. We're not in the business of taking our readers for a ride. It's simply a way for us to keep going without expecting you to pay up donations. If you're going to get it from Amazon, click through Synae - it's the best and more appreciated way to support us. It costs you nothing extra, and the shopping experience is identical. We'll just love you all the more.Have you a link I could bookmark? Funny you should ask. If you have Amazon bookmarked or in your favourites, simply replace it with the following link:Amazon, for Synae users. Or, if you just want it added automatically, click Are there any other ways to support you guys? Incidentally, yes! We have the same referral system with a few other online shops. These include:
CDWOW : GAME :
Any cool stuff on the way? We might do merchandise in the future, but right now, there's nothing. Give it time though. Give it time.
